I started in dogs by forcing my parents to buy me a Wire Fox Terrier puppy at a local pet shop leading me down a road to the dogs. After attending my first dog show near my home, I vowed to show my pup there the following year. I eventually acquired my first Afghan Hound, Ch. Scarabet the Locust, and finished his championship at the Afghan Hound Club of America. He became the foundation of Sebring Afghan Hounds, a line that has produced many champions, specialty and all-breed best in show awards, as well as a Westminster Kennel Club breed winner. Some the most well known dogs are Ch. Sebring Soloflex, sire of over 30 US champions and Ch. Elan Sebring the Matrix, two-time winner of the Afghan Hound Club of America. I am currently licensed to judge all Terriers, Afghan Hounds and Salukis. Judging has taken me to Australia, Japan, Canada, France, Sweden, Spain and England. I am the Supervising Veterinarian of Emergency at The Chicago Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center, the largest veterinary emergency facility in Chicago, where I live with my partner Dan and our two Afghan Hounds, Reese and Kong.
